There’s never a dull moment
In the corners of my old town
There’s sheephead in the river
And a truck stop and an iHop
And a guy we called Crazy Eddie
Who ran off his mouth one day
He landed in jail

With a golf club and a fifth of Tanqueray

Eddie lives in a box on the edge of town
A home with a Shanghai rooster
And a three-legged Red Bone Hound
We got no business watching Eddie live
But stuff’s gone missing
And the children are getting scared

He rubs his beard on the little girls’ cheeks
And chases them down the street
Dodging the stones that we all have thrown
For years and years
When Eddie’s gone we’ll be rid of all those half-grown tears
